New Sunday Adult Formation Lenten Series beginning March 6th

Join the Adult Faith Formation group as we prepare for Lent, Holy Week and Easter with a six-week study by Professor Amy-Jill Levine. Levine is the University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies and Mary Jane Werthan Professor of Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt Divinity School and College of Arts and Science. In Entering the Passion of Jesus, Professor Levine delves into the historical context, scripture and the literature surrounding the last days of Jesus’ life (Holy Week). She shows how the texts raise ethical and spiritual questions for the reader and how we all face risk in our Christian experience.

Each Sunday at noon, we will start by watching a ten minute video by Professor Levine followed by discussion of the video and our reading. You will need your Bible, a journal and a copy of Entering the Passion of Jesus. Please read the Introduction and Chapter 1 prior to our first meeting March 6 at noon on Zoom.
